In preparation for the III International Theater Festival at the Mollanepes Students’ Drama Theater, “The Story of Lovers” authored by Oremyrat Ovezov and directed Ashir Rahmanov was staged by staged by the troupe of Dashoguz Province Theater named after Nurmukhammed Andalib, the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan reports.
This is a musical drama based on the popular Turkmen epic ‘Shasenem and Garib’, an invaluable asset of the cultural heritage of the Turkmen nation. The stage work deals with enduring human values - love and friendship, duty and honor. The artists of the troupe, creating convincing and integral images, revealed the national character in the play, the deep meaning inherent in the musical drama.
The lovers' story is conducted through involvement and blessing of Ashyk Aydin Pir, legendary patron saint of folk singers and musicians. He is the hero of famous tales and legends of the Orient, who had a divine gift and omnifarious knowledge. His characterization and was created by Annageldi Orazgeldiev , the Honored Artist of Turkmenistan. The monologues delivered by the artist were filled with his winged phrases and wise commandments on duty, honor, dignity, eternal spiritual and universal values which embody folk wisdom. The narrator of Turkmen destans about Ashyk Aydin Pir impressed devotees of theatrical art. The sage’s thought-provoking sayings encouraged spectators rethink about moral ideals and their life mission.
It is symbolic that the show of the performance “Aşyklar kyssasy” (“The Story of Lovers”) by the troupe of the Nurmukhammed Andalib State Musical Drama Theater was held on the eve of the III International Theater Festival, which was a creative gift for Ashgabat residents. Traditionally organized creative meetings foster friendship, and serve as a key to mutual understanding and spiritual enrichment.
