The international exhibition and conference "Education and sport in the era of power and happiness", organized by the Ministry of education and the Ministry of sports and youth policy of Turkmenistan, opened today in the exhibition center of the chamber of commerce and industry in Ashgabat. The venue of the exhibition Director of the Company Edu GeeK Mohanraj Thangarajan gave an interview to the special correspondent "Turkmenportal".
- Mr. Thangarajan, could you briefly tell me about what you are exhibiting today, please?
-Thank you, we are from Malaysia, we have three universities from Malaysia with us today and we offering to Turkmenistan’s students, who are interested to study in Malaysia. We have three universities as I said; we have Multimedia University, Infrastructure university in Kuala-Lumpur and SEGI university. I will start with Multimedia university which is the first private university in Malaysia. It is in Malaysia for the last 24 years and we are ranked in the top 1000 in the world, so it is a very high ranking university and they are offering engineering programs, business, and accounting, information and computer science, creative multimedia. So, these are their main programs in the Multimedia University. We have two Turkmen students over there; they are scholarship students. They received scholarships from the Turkmenistan government, to study at Multimedia University. The next university will be the Infrastructure University of Kuala-Lumpur. In short, we call it IUKL, so IUKL is offering similar engineering programs, architecture. They also offering electronic engineering, IT Biotechnology. So, their main top program, I would say is the civil engineering, Biotechnology, and architecture, and for Turkmen students, we are offering a special scholarship, if they apply for the next year, they will get up to 50 % of scholarship from this university. So, this becomes already low to study in Malaysia and the scholarship fees are very low for students, and a lot of students are looking for into this.
And finally, we have SEGI university. SEGI is also a private university and one of the oldest universities in Malaysia. They are very well-known for their business program, IT and also American Degree program. A lot of Turkmen students go to Segi university for this American Degree Program. They will study for 4 years in Malaysia after high school, they will graduate with an American certificate, so they don’t have to go to America, spend so much money for the 4 years. Instead, they can come to Malaysia, they save a lot of money but they will still get the American certificate. So, these are the advantages of these three universities that we are offering.
- What are your expectations from this exhibition?
- We are expecting a lot of Turkmen students, who want to study abroad to come and visit us. We have a local office over here. We have been doing this for the last 6 years. We have helped a lot of Turkmen students to study in Malaysia, and we are offering completely free service for this and everything is done by us: from the moment of student approaches, the documentation system, the moment they land in Malaysian airport, we will pick them up, until they got o the hostel. So, we are doing completely aim for that service. I am expecting more and more students to come and study in Malaysia because right not I can see in Turkmenistan they are giving a lot of importance for the students who have a lot of knowledge in English and studies in Malaysia is fully conducted in English. There is no other languages or local language it is all in English 100 %. So, these are my expectations.
- What is your message? How would you invite students to study in Malaysia?
- Well, my message is if you are looking for high-quality education and very- very affordable for your parents and yourself please you welcome to study in Malaysia. Quality is very high, you will save a lot of money and it is a very safe country you will see.
