Within the framework of the Turkmen-Italian business forum, which opened today in Milan, a presentation of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan was held, accompanied by a slide show, an overview of the international cooperation of our country in this sector, its contractual framework, comments on the relevant legislative acts.
According to the state news Agency of Turkmenistan, four projects in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea and three such projects on land are currently being implemented with foreign companies on the basis of production sharing Agreements (PSAs). The company "Eni Turkmenistan Limited" - a branch of the Italian energy company Eni-has been operating since 2008 under the PSA on the contractual territory of "Nebitdag".
The main areas of expansion of Turkmenistan's cooperation in the energy sector are the development of license blocks of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, investment projects to increase oil recovery, in the field of oil and gas chemistry, as well as service projects for the construction of industrial facilities in the industry.
In his speech at the business forum, Eni Vice President for Central Asia Luca Vignati noted that during the period of successful activity in Turkmenistan, which is already 11 years, it has invested more than two billion dollars in the development of the field on the contract territory. Today, the company produces more than two thousand tons of oil per day.
He also noted that Eni, which is present in 63 countries of the world, with priority attention refers to technologies that ensure environmental safety of production, which in Turkmenistan has special requirements.
"Over the past 3 years, we have been able to achieve such safety standards, which play an important role for the further development of the industry and in this regard, the company's position fully meets the criteria set by the government of Turkmenistan, personally President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for industrial facilities," Luca Vignati said.
In addition, "Eni Turkmenistan Limited" represents a thousand jobs, and most of them are occupied by Turkmen. In the field of human capital development, the company also organizes work in various formats. For example, a training center was established in Ashgabat, where managers and technical staff conduct training and training, the company's employees are also sent to seminars on expanding competencies in Italy.
Large funds are invested in technology and know-how. A number of them were first used in Turkmenistan and then began to be used in other countries and regions of the world. Continuing the theme of innovative cooperation, Luca Vignati expressed his opinion on the possibility of diversification of Eni's activities in Turkmenistan, beyond the oil and gas sector, in the field of renewable energy development, for example.
Speaking about the "recipe" for successful cooperation with Turkmenistan, Mr. Vignati stressed that the most important role for effective cooperation in such a strategic sector as oil and gas, which implies a long-term perspective of cooperation, is the political stability of the state.
Turkmenistan is one of the few countries where agreements are very clearly regulated and respected, Luca Vignati said. This is also a great incentive for business development and attracting new investments to the country.
