The international book fair and the scientific conference "Book-the way to cooperation and progress", organized by the Turkmen state publishing service together with the chamber of Commerce and industry of the country, opened in Ashgabat today.
The book forum is attended by representatives of more than 70 large companies from 20 countries. Prominent cultural scientists, specialists in the field of printing, literary critics and writers were also invited. The exhibition program includes creative meetings, poetry readings, presentations of new publications, etc.
The expanded exposition introduces "Novelties" in the publishing sphere-fiction, popular science and educational literature, mainly prepared for ten months of the current year. The pavilions of our country, where samples of book production are presented, have become the most voluminous in terms of the number of exhibits.
Among them – dozens of titles of fiction. The stands are brightly illustrated editions of "Turkmen folk tales", including translated into eight languages - Russian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, English, German and French. The translation was carried out by specialists Of the Turkmen national Institute of world languages named after D. Azadi. Representatives of the same University also prepared for release translated into Russian and English popular among children's fairy tale "Mowgli" Rudyard Kipling.
The Central stand, where the works of the head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov are presented, attracted the special attention of numerous visitors of the exhibition. Among them – "Turkmen Alabay", "Horse-a symbol of loyalty and happiness", a series of "Medicinal plants of Turkmenistan", the eleventh volume of which has received its version in English.
In total, dozens of literary works of the head of state, translated into different languages and demanded by a large readership of the world, are presented in the pavilions. Educational and popular scientific literature in various fields of knowledge is widely presented here. In total, more than a hundred titles are designed for different intellectual tastes and professional preferences.
In the afternoon, within the framework of the International exhibition and fair, a scientific conference "The Book-the way to cooperation and progress" will be held. On the sidelines of the forum there will be a presentation of the website created by the Turkmen state publishing service, which promptly publishes electronic versions of domestic Newspapers and magazines, as well as exclusive news materials devoted to the most important events in the life of our country.
A kind of "Red thread" of the program will be a creative meeting organized on the subjects of the book of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "Turkmen Alabay", the participants of which will be the guests of our country. The presentation of the eleventh volume "Medicinal plants of Turkmenistan" will continue acquaintance with the literary works of the leader of the nation.
With the participation of Turkmen and foreign experts, round table discussions will be held on the topics "Introduction of new technologies and digital system in the publishing industry" and "the Role of books in the careful preservation and promotion of ancient values of peoples".
The rich program of the forum includes a creative evening "In the master's workshop" in the Park "Ylkham", the main participants of which will be famous writers and poets.
In addition, the Museum of fine arts of Turkmenistan is scheduled to meet with artists who take an active part in the illustrative design of books. The rich program of the forum also includes a number of other creative events, which, among others, will be held at the State Academy of arts of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen state Institute of culture. The leitmotif of the meetings predetermines the tasks associated with the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of book design and the history of printing. Special attention at a separate session will be paid to such an aspect as the art of translation. A bright and particularly memorable event of the two-day forum promises to be a meeting with the participation of writers, poets, translators and representatives of student youth, dedicated to the book of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "The Horse is a symbol of loyalty and happiness".
