Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking to Turkmen students studying in Japanese universities, touched upon the agenda of the upcoming October 23 meeting with representatives of Japanese business circles, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

"We will discuss a wide range of issues of cooperation, including in the transport and transit sector. As you know, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly adopted two UN resolutions aimed at enhancing international cooperation in the field of transport," the President of Turkmenistan said.

According to the information, the Turkmen leader noted that transport corridors from the Pacific Ocean to Europe, from the North of Russia to the Indian ocean pass through the territory of our country.

"Afghanistan gets access to the international transport network through our country, which is important in the context of stabilization of the economic situation in the friendly state and growth of its foreign trade turnover," the head of state stressed, citing as an example the Lapis Lazuli corridor: Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey, thanks to which Afghan goods enter the European market.

To develop trade and export goods, we need good modern roads. This is beneficial to all: the producing countries, and those countries through which raw materials and goods are transited, as well as countries-buyers, the President of Turkmenistan concluded.

The head of state emphasized that with the participation of foreign companies, including the leading Japanese players in the innovation market, powerful production facilities have been built in Turkmenistan, producing environmentally friendly and popular oil and gas chemical products of a wide range.

Among the strategic export-oriented branch of the Turkmen economy, the head of state singled out cotton growing, stressing that our country is increasing the production of highly quoted in the world market of raw materials for the textile industry.
