In Ashgabat will take the program to enhance the partnership between the Foreign Ministries of the CIS countries

The program of action to intensify the partnership between the foreign ministries of the CIS member States is planned to be adopted at the upcoming meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS in Ashgabat on October 10, the official website of the CIS Executive Committee reports.

According to the information, the draft Program was developed in accordance with the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, expressed by him in October 2017 during the meeting of the Council of CIS heads of state.

The draft document provides for specific actions to develop and strengthen the foreign policy cooperation of the CIS member States within the CIS and in international organizations, defines mechanisms and areas of interaction on key global and regional issues.

According to the source, it is expected that the Program will, in particular, to enhance the practical results of the activities of the organization, increase its credibility in the international arena, expansion of cooperation in the Commonwealth and further strengthen comprehensive mutually beneficial and equal cooperation with third countries, regional integration associations and international financial institutions.

The program provides for the expansion of cooperation in the humanitarian field, coordination of efforts to prevent interference in the internal Affairs of the CIS member States, the development of cooperation between the CIS countries in the field of human rights protection.

A special place in the document is occupied by the issues of cooperation of the CIS States on strengthening peace, ensuring global and regional stability and security, promoting collective approaches to crisis situations, expanding cooperation in countering traditional and new challenges and threats in the field of security, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, transnational organized crime, illegal migration, as well as cooperation on a wide range of issues of international information security. There is a need for joint efforts to prevent the deployment of weapons in space.

The program also provides for the interaction of the Commonwealth countries in matters of increasing the authority and strengthening the central role of the UN in world affairs, the establishment of multipolar just world order and the rule of international law, the information says.
