Today, after the ceremony of laying wreaths at the monuments of the Memorial complex "Halk hakydasy" and the memorial meal, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived at the place where the sculpture of the first President of Turkmenistan S. A. Niyazov is installed. The head of state together with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, government members, heads of military and law-enforcement bodies, the mayor of Ashgabat, the mufti of Turkmenistan commemorated the first President of the country – they also laid a wreath and read "Ayat-towir". Noting the grandiose activity of S. A. Niyazov to protect the sovereignty of the country, the recognition of Turkmenistan in the world arena, the head of state stressed that it should not be forgotten.
Then President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, together with the participants of the ceremony, took a walk around the Park complex, during which he ordered to keep in the center of unflagging attention the issues of improvement of the capital's parks, creation of all conditions for recreation in them. Increasing the ecological level of the urban environment is an important requirement of the time, the head of state said.
During a walk in the Park, the head of state continued talking about the principles of humanism, noting that in 2020 the 80th anniversary of the birth of the first President of Turkmenistan will be celebrated. Following the noble tradition of our people, it is necessary to hold an appropriate memorial ceremony for the deceased Saparmurat Turkmenbashi as a sign of respect and reverence for the first President of Turkmenistan, which will be a worthy manifestation of humane traditions, the State News Agency reports.
