The delegation of Turkmenistan paid a working visit to the UK

On September 30, 2019, the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of agriculture and environmental protection and governor of Akhal province arrived at a working visit to London, the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

According to the information, on the first day of the visit, the Turkmen delegation met with Baroness Emma Nicholson, Special trade representative of the Prime Minister of Great Britain for Turkmenistan, the talks were also held at the Ministry of environment, food, and agriculture of Great Britain. During the meetings, the sides noted with satisfaction the friendly nature of the Turkmen-British relations and the huge potential for expanding cooperation in various fields.

Expressing interest in further strengthening of Turkmen-British relations, the parties discussed a number of topical issues, including the possibility of cooperation in the field of digitalization in agriculture, in increasing labor productivity, in the exchange of experience and research between agricultural educational institutions of the two countries.

On October 1, 2019, the delegation of Turkmenistan visited a number of research centers in Northern Ireland. In the morning, the delegation of Turkmenistan visited the College of agriculture and entrepreneurship, where it met with its Director. During the visit to the College, representatives of our country got acquainted with the research and educational facilities of the institution and their activities. In the afternoon, the delegation of Turkmenistan visited the fish farm "Movanagher Fish Farm" and met with the management of the farm. During the presentation, the delegation was introduced to the activities of fish production.

 

The program of the working visit of the delegation includes familiarization with the Institute of rural food industry and biological Sciences, as well as with the Institute of global food security.
