In New York, within the 74th session of the UN General ASSEMBLY, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and international cooperation of the UAE Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan, during the meeting, the diplomats noted the development of mutually beneficial relations between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates.
According to the information, the participants of the meeting discussed the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE in international organizations, primarily within the UN and OIC. The parties also stressed that the opening of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Dubai is an indicator of positive cooperation between the two countries.
According to the source, during the meeting, the diplomats noted the importance of holding political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries and meetings of the joint intergovernmental commission on a regular basis.
During the talks, the Foreign Ministers stressed the importance of the comprehensive development of trade and economic relations between the two countries and in this regard, the parties focused on the need for bilateral cooperation in the preparation and holding of the world exhibition EXPO-2020, which will be held in Dubai, the information said.
