French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the 28th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported today.
"On the occasion of the national holiday of Turkmenistan, I address my sincere congratulations to You, as well as wishes of happiness and prosperity to the Turkmen people," Macron said in his congratulatory message.
"I am pleased to continue the regular and substantive dialogue between our two countries, in particular through the consultations that are now held annually between our foreign ministries. In this regard, I welcome the visit of the Secretary of State under the Minister of Europe and foreign Affairs Jean-Baptiste Lemoine to Ashgabat this year, who was given a warm welcome," the French President said.
"I also highly appreciate Turkmenistan's efforts to strengthen regional cooperation, an example of which is the success of the first Caspian Economic Forum, held on August 11-12, 2019 in Avaza," the congratulatory message says.
