"The achievements of Turkmenistan in the economic and social spheres are widely recognized. Your country enjoys a well-deserved international reputation and makes a significant contribution to ensuring peace and stability in Central Asia," Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a message to his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov published today in the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The letter was sent on the occasion of the national holiday of Turkmenistan-Independence Day (September 27).
"I am pleased to note the high level of Russian-Turkmen relations based on good traditions of friendship and mutual respect. Our countries have established a meaningful dialogue, mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in various areas, " the letter says.
"I am confident that together we will ensure further strengthening of the strategic partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan for the benefit of the peoples of both countries," Putin writes.
