President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in his speech at the meeting of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council) stressed: "Without the creation of a digital economy, it is impossible to imagine the development of our state, the promotion of innovation, competitiveness and high rates of economic progress. This direction poses new challenges to all sectors of the economy," the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The introduction of the digital system in the domestic economy should first be considered as an important basis for sustainable development of the state. To assess this as a basic basis for the development of the system of state administration, the economy, and the entire society.
Secondly, the "Fourth industrial revolution", which refers to the combination of physical, digital and biological technologies in the world, is already beginning to have an impact on the political, economic and social systems of the country. In accordance with this, it is necessary to develop a new program for the development of sectors of the domestic economy, the President said.
It would be expedient to provide for the establishment of the center of information technologies of Turkmenistan in this program, the head of state said.
As it was noted, during the transition to the digital economy, the country's need for IT specialists, engineers and technologists were envisaged. To this end, new areas of training have been included in the programs of higher education institutions and the Institute of telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan has been established.
At the same time, the origins of all the transformations carried out on the transition to the digital economy should be research institutes, higher education institutions of the country.
We should also pay more attention to the education of the younger generation. In accordance with the acquired knowledge and skills, young people will use complex production technologies, manage economic facilities with a digital structure, the head of state noted.
