President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed Vice Prime Minister Mamethan Chakyev in charge of the government complex industry and communications, to speed up the privatization process-controlled enterprises and their transfer to the jurisdiction of the Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs of the country. The relevant instructions were given at the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held in Ashgabat.
The head of state also stressed the importance of taking urgent measures to ensure the effective operation of communication facilities, especially cellular, the widespread of the Internet and the introduction of new technologies. It is necessary to expand the range of operation of the national artificial satellite, to study the issue of launching a second satellite. In addition, it is necessary to prepare specialists to work in these areas, the leader of the nation stressed.
According to the state news Agency of Turkmenistan, in the eight months of this year, the Ministry of industry and communication has achieved a growth rate of 107.1 percent in production and services. The figure for the Agency "Türkmensenagat" ("Turkmen industry") amounted to 103.1 percent, the Agency "Türkmenawtoulaglary" ("Turkmenavtotransport") – 125.7 percent, the Agency "Türkmendemirýollary" ("The Turkmen Railways") – 101,1 percent, the Agency "Türkmenhowaýollary" ("Turkmen airlines") – 103.6 per cent, the Agency "Türkmendeňizderýaýollary" ("The Turkmen Sea and river road") – 180.2 percent, the Agency "Türkmenaragatnaşyk" ("Turkmencommunication") – 106.7 percent.
