Today in the capital's cinema "Ashgabat" opened "Korean week", organized by the Ministry of culture jointly with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Turkmenistan, according to the State news Agency of our country.
This event has become traditional, which reflects the desire of the peoples of the two countries to strengthen friendship, to learn new facets of national culture.
A delegation consisting of scientists-experts, representatives of the Korean national sports University, as well as the Korean cultural center from the Republic of Kazakhstan, arrived in our country for the" Korean week".
At the opening ceremony of the current action, the urgency of cultural exchange, promotion of spiritual values and creative heritage in strengthening peace and friendship, mutual enrichment of cultures and mutual understanding of the two peoples, expansion of humanitarian dialogue was noted. The participants expressed their gratitude to the heads of the two friendly countries for the opportunity to organize events designed to strengthen and enrich with new content the spiritual ties of the Turkmen and Korean peoples.

The bright fashion show was enthusiastically received by numerous audiences. It is noteworthy that on the eve of the SEC "Berkarar" in the framework of the "Korean week " visitors were given the opportunity not only to admire the highly artistic examples of arts and crafts but also to try on the national Korean clothes and take pictures in it.
The Turkmen got acquainted with the characteristic features of the cinema of the friendly country during the viewing of the film "the Great moment" (2008), which tells about the final handball match of the XXVIII summer Olympic games in 2004 in Athens, where the women's team of the Republic of Korea in an exciting match took second place.
Sport is one of the traditional areas of Turkmen-Korean cooperation. Martial arts are very popular, among which a special place is occupied by the Korean national martial arts – Taekwondo. Residents and guests of the Turkmen capital will be able to appreciate it during the demonstration performances on September 5 at the national music and drama theater named after Makhtumkuli.
On the final day of the Week – September 6 – a seminar on key aspects of Turkmen-Korean relations will be held in the conference hall of the Yildiz hotel.
The program of the cultural event also includes a presentation of traditional Korean dishes. Gastronomic Vernissage will be held in the SEC "Berkarar".
Currently, Turkmen-Korean relations are experiencing a dynamic rise. This is confirmed by regular meetings at the highest, intergovernmental and interdepartmental levels, as well as by expanding contacts from year to year in the field of education, science and culture, as well as tourism and sports. For more than ten years, D. Azadi Turkmen national Institute of world languages has been training specialists in the field of Korean language and literature. And at the beginning of this week at the Korean educational center named After king Sejong at the Turkmen national Institute of world languages named after D. Azadi opened the evening Korean language courses. In the near future, Turkmenistan plans to develop a concept of cooperation in the tourism sector with the Republic of Korea.
