At the “Berkarar” shopping center in Ashgabat, a Korean week was held, with the participation of representatives of the Korean embassy in Turkmenistan and other participants. The event conducted to introduce Korean traditional clothes “Hanbok”. The event was initiated by the Korean embassy in Turkmenistan.
During the event, the correspondent of Turkmenportal got an interview with the Counsellor of the Korean Embassy in Turkmenistan Moon Jaepil.
- Please, briefly describe our meaning of event you are organizing now?
- Yes, today we introducing Korean traditional clothes " Hanbok". Hanbok is very similar to Turkmen national clothes. Both of the clothes are very colorful. Everyone can wear Korean hanboks and take a picture. There are different designs of hanbok for male and females. Korean fashion is very beautiful and we would like to introduce it today. This is the first day of the Korean week in Turkmenistan.
Tomorrow will be a fashion show of Korean traditional dresses in performance Azadi institute students. Very beautiful Korean fashion will be introduced to the public.
On September 4, will be Korean cinema at the theatre “Ashgabat”.
On September 5, we will bring taekwondo demonstrators from Korea and they will show real taekwondo at Magtymguly theatre.
On September 6, will be Scientific seminar about Turkmen Korean relations at “Yyldyz” hotel. We invited several professors from Korea.
The last one is on 6th of September Korean cousin event. There will be introduced to a lot of kinds of Korean traditional cousin. The participants will have the chance to try Korean foods. The event will be held on the third floor of “Berkarar" shopping center near the cinema. Several Korean chefs will come and show cousin art of Korean culture.
- What are your expectations after this event?
- We want to share our culture and we want to get closer to each other. Korean president visited Turkmenistan by state visit and two Presidents went to Kiyanly(Gyýanly) together and there was a memorial event for two countries. Now Turkmenistan's government very supporting us to let Turkmen people know more about Korea. In Korea held Turkmenistan’s week in April, Turkmenistan's delegation came to Korea and they had an event like this.
