Today, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived on a state visit to the Republic of Singapore, the State news Agency reports.
An honor guard was built in honor of the high Turkmen guest at the Changi international airport in Singapore. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was met by high-ranking representatives of the friendly country, as well as members of the government delegation of Turkmenistan, in the air Harbor decorated with the national flags of the two countries on a significant occasion.
From the airport, the Turkmen leader's motorcade went to the luxurious Shangri-La hotel, where the residence reserved for the head of Turkmenistan during his two-day visit was located.
On August 27, talks will be held between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Singapore Halima Jacob, during which priority aspects of interstate relations will be discussed.
By consistently implementing its foreign policy strategy based on the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness and constructive cooperation, Turkmenistan aims to further intensify fruitful cooperation with all interested foreign partners, including the States of the Asia-Pacific region.
The dynamic pace of economic growth of Turkmenistan, which has rich natural resources, a favorable investment climate – all this opens up great prospects for the implementation of joint projects. Along with this, important areas of cooperation with foreign partners are the scientific and technical sphere, innovative medicine, training of highly qualified personnel, the tourism industry. Of course, great importance is attached to strengthening humanitarian and cultural contacts as an integral part of the traditionally friendly interstate dialogue.
Taking into account the policy of innovative development and industrialization of the national economy, the introduction of advanced high-tech technologies, increasing investment activity, now there are great opportunities for establishing productive ties with the Republic of Singapore, which is one of the developed countries of the world.
It should also be emphasized that Turkmenistan and the Republic of Singapore cooperate fruitfully in the international arena, supporting each other's constructive initiatives and proposals put forward within the framework of the United Nations and other authoritative international and regional structures. Our countries demonstrate proximity or convergence of positions on such key topics as strengthening peace and security, transport and energy diplomacy, and achieving sustainable development Goals.
On the eve of the summit, on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, members of the government delegation of our country held a number of meetings with representatives of the business community of Singapore, including within the framework of the business forum, where an interested exchange of views on possible measures and steps aimed at enhancing cooperation in various fields took place.
The state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Singapore, following which it is planned to sign bilateral documents, will undoubtedly give a powerful impetus to the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in a wide range of areas, will give new concrete content to interstate relations.
Today, Singapore is rightly recognized as one of the leading financial, economic and oil and gas centers of the Asia-Pacific region. In this regard, the experience of this country in the creation of large industrial clusters – in particular, the electronic and petrochemical industries, as well as in the field of logistics, attracting foreign investment and promoting high-tech products to international markets is very interesting.
