This morning, the First Economic Forum opened its doors for the participants in the National tourist zone "Avaza", on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea. Early in the morning, more than 3,000 politicians, diplomats, businessmen, environmentalists, scientists and journalists from dozens of countries, as well as Turkmenistan, gathered at the Congress Center. From the rostrum of the international forum, Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed the participants with an opening speech, the correspondent of Turkmenportal reports from the event.
At the beginning of his speech, the head of state expressed deep gratitude to all participants who responded and accepted the invitation to participate in the SCEF, stressed that the agenda of the Conference includes topical issues of enhancing cooperation between coastal countries and all interested foreign partners.
― All of us are like-minded people, United by the understanding of the importance of a multifaceted and systematic dialogue on the development of the Caspian region, determining the prospects of international cooperation in the Caspian Sea, ― said the head of Turkmenistan.
According to the President of Turkmenistan, the future partnership in the new format in the Caspian Sea is designed to lay a solid Foundation for the future, designed for decades to come, joint creative work
― This proposal was the result of an in-depth analysis of modern processes of global and regional development, the place and role of the Caspian Sea as an important geopolitical and geo-economic space. Today, the objective interests of not only coastal, but also other States are concentrated here, due to the fact that the Caspian region is a major natural source of hydrocarbon resources, a transport and transit hub of continental scale, a promising territory for expanding international trade, Berdimuhamedov said.
