Turkmenistan national football team will friendly matches with teams from Africa

The national team of Turkmenistan under the leadership of the Croatian specialist Ante Miše during the training camp in the UAE plans to hold friendly matches with the teams of Djibouti and Uganda, the official website of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan reports.

It is noted that the meeting with the team of Djibouti will be held on June 5, and the Turkmen football players will play with the Uganda national team on June 9. Place and time of the meeting will be announced later.

The national football team of Djibouti represents the state in East Africa - the Republic of Djibouti in international football matches. Considered one of the weakest in the world. Never participated in world championships and African Cups. Participated since 1994 regularly in the CESAFA Cup for Central and East African countries. Currently located at 194 in the FIFA rankings.

The Uganda national football team represents the state in East Africa - the Republic of Uganda at international football tournaments and in friendly matches. He has been a member of FIFA since 1960 and CAF since 1959. The highest achievement of the national team is reaching the final of the African Nations Cup in 1978. French specialist Sébastien Desabre is training the team. The national team is in 79th place in the FIFA rankings.

Recall that in March 2019, in an interview with Turkmenportal, the head coach of Turkmenistan national team Ante Miše, said that he “plans to play with a stronger opponent than our team and check the line of defense in this game, see what defense players can do". Ante Miše also said that another opponent “will most likely be of our level, in a match with which you can see the full potential of the national team.”
