TGC 2019 is an important event in the global gas industry

On May 21, the X International Gas Congress of Turkmenistan - TGC 2019 will begin its work in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

This large specialized forum, aimed at strengthening and developing international energy cooperation, every year brings together leaders of the global gas industry in our country. The organizers of the anniversary International Gas Congress of Turkmenistan were the Turkmengas State Concern and the Turkmen Forum Company.

The current - anniversary - Congress promises to be especially representative. The leaders of the largest oil and gas, service and consulting companies, representatives of sectoral ministries and departments, authoritative international organizations, innovation centers, research and design institutes from dozens of countries around the world confirmed their participation in it. Among them there are Exxon Mobil, Shell, Gazprom PJSC, Petronas, CNPC, Hyundai, Kawasaki, Vitol, Dragon Oil, ENI, Buried Hill, LG, Gaffney, Cline & Associates and many others.

The main topics of TGC 2019 are “Gas is the fuel of the future”; "TAPI - pipeline peace and stability"; “Pipeline projects are key elements of energy security and sustainability”; "Monetization of gas, the path to diversification and growth" and "Cooperation under production sharing agreements."

During the forum, the leaders of the domestic fuel and energy complex will acquaint foreign guests with the priorities of the energy strategy, consistently implemented by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, large-scale projects to modernize and diversify and strengthen the export potential of the country's gas industry.

As is known, Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of natural gas reserves. According to the data that are published every year in the OPEC statistical bulletins, our country ranks 11th in the world ranking in terms of natural gas production volumes and 3rd place in Europe and the CIS.

Possessing a huge energy potential, Turkmenistan is implementing large-scale projects to create a multi-vector infrastructure for the export of its energy resources. A good example of this is the construction of the gas pipeline Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India (TAPI). The forum will feature reports on the progress of this project, designed to give a powerful impetus to the socio-economic development of the region and to promote peace and stability here.

Special attention will be paid to the gas chemical industry, including the example of the development of this industry in Turkmenistan, where large projects have been successfully implemented. Among them there is the construction of a polymer plant in the village of Kiyanly, a plant for the production of carbamide fertilizers in the city of Garabogaz. Pre-commissioning work is underway at another industrial giant - a plant for the production of synthetic gasoline from natural gas in the Akhal region.

In turn, representatives of foreign companies will share their experience of successful work in the energy market of Turkmenistan, talk about the possibilities of introducing the latest industry technologies, make proposals for new investment

projects that will undoubtedly contribute to further expanding mutually beneficial international cooperation in the energy sector.

It should be noted also that TGC 2019 will be covered by leading domestic and international media. In particular, live broadcasts from the forum are planned to be carried on by: RT - Russia Today, ABU - Asian Broadcasting Union, Habar - Kazakh media company, Lagardere France, CCTV+ China, Korean KBS, TRT Turkey, NHK Japan, TVR - National Broadcasting Company of Uzbekistan. Printed publications are represented by the magazines SPE and API (USA) and Business Central Asia (India).
