Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the Chairman of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the XIV Forum of Creative and Scientific Intellectuals of the CIS Member States and at a meeting of the CIS Intergovernmental Coordination Council on seed breeding issues to be held on May 15-16 this year in Ashgabat, the official website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the preparatory process for the upcoming summit meetings within the CIS. In particular, organizational issues related to the holding of the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS member states on May 31, 2019 in Ashgabat were considered.
Lebedev noted that the chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the CIS this year is important for strengthening ties between member states and stressed that the development of mutually beneficial relations with Turkmenistan remains one of the priority tasks of the Commonwealth.
