Turkmenistan national under-16 will take part in the qualification in Uzbekistan for 2020 AFC U-16 Championship

The national teams of India, Uzbekistan and Bahrain will be rivals of Turkmenistan football players at the first stage of the 2020 AFC U-16 Championship. They formed the qualifying group "B", the matches in which will be held in Tashkent from September 18 to September 22.

That is how the draw was decided in Kuala Lumpur, according to which the youth teams of 47 countries, depending on the U-16 rating of the last Asian U-16 championship, are divided into 11 groups. Participants in the qualifying stage are geographically divided into West (25 teams) and East (22) zones, the Asian Football Confederation website reported today.

The draw for the qualifying round of the 2020 AFC U-16 Championship qualification:

West Zone

Group A: Tajikistan, Jordan (host), Nepal, Sri Lanka, Kuwait.

Group "B": India, Uzbekistan (host), Bahrain, TURKMENISTAN.

Group "C": Iran (host), Afghanistan, Palestine, Maldives.

Group D: Oman, Saudi Arabia (host), Syria, Pakistan.

Group E: Yemen, Bangladesh, Qatar (host), Bhutan.

Group F: Iraq, Kyrgyzstan (host), Lebanon, United Arab Emirates.

Zone East

Group G: Indonesia (host), China, Brunei, Philippines, Northern Mariana Islands.

Group “H”: Australia, Vietnam (host), East Timor, Mongolia, Macau.

Group I: DPRK, Hong Kong, Singapore (host), Guam.

Group "J": Japan, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos (host).

Group "K": Republic of Korea, Thailand, Myanmar (host), Taiwan.

The final part of the junior Asian Championship, the venue of which will be determined later, will be won by the winners of 11 groups and 4 teams that took second places in their groups with the best performance.

Qualifying matches in groups with the participation of five teams will be played from September 14 to September 22, and with the participation of four teams from September 18 to September 22, 2019.

As Turkmenportal was told at the FFT, Turkmen footballers are preparing for the qualifying tournament of the Asian Championship (U-16) under the guidance of the acting head coach of the country's youth team, Batyr Shihiyev.
