On August 12, 2019, the first Caspian Economic Forum will be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. This Forum is held on the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which was supported by the heads of all the Caspian littoral states.
The development of fruitful cooperation with the countries of the Caspian region is among the priority vectors of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan, based on the principles of positive neutrality, good neighborliness and mutually beneficial partnership. By taking consecutive steps in this direction, our country makes a significant contribution to the realization of the impressive economic, energy and transport potential of the Caspian Sea, fully contributing to securing for it the status of a sea of peace, friendship and harmony.
The date of the first Caspian Economic Forum was not chosen randomly. On this day, August 12, 2006, the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea entered into force. And on August 12, 2018, the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea was signed at the V Summit of the Heads of the Caspian littoral states. Every year on August 12, the Day of the Caspian Sea is traditionally celebrated in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, which traditionally spills over to a big bright holiday.
The agenda of the upcoming economic forum will cover a wide range of issues related to the development of cooperation in the Caspian region. Members of governments, heads of ministries and departments, heads of coastal regions and executive bodies of government, representatives of the banking sector, companies and companies whose activities are related to the Caspian Sea, as well as employees of international economic, financial, transport, environmental and other organizations, are invited to participate in it scientists.
Among the main events of the Forum are the Caspian Exhibition of Innovative Technologies and the International Conference, which will discuss such topical issues as the role of the economy of the Caspian region on a global scale, factors of growth of investment attractiveness in the oil and gas, electricity, transport, trade, agro-industrial, tourism and other industries. Special attention will be paid to the possibilities of implementing joint investment projects and programs, the creation and development of special, special and free economic zones, the digital economy, promising areas of cooperation between the regions of coastal states, the creation of joint ventures.
