The national team of Turkmenistan kept the draw for 1 minute before the end of the third period in the match with the national team of Chinese Taipei in the group tournament of the III division of the IIHF World Championship that started in Sofia. Turkmen hockey players scored four goals, but lost in overtime (4:5 OT), the IIHF official website reports.
The match took place in the capital of Bulgaria on the ice arena of the sports complex Winter Palace.
Thus, our athletes scored the first point, because according to the IIHF rules, in extra time, two points are awarded for a victory, and one point for a defeat.
Tomorrow the national team of Turkmenistan will play with the national team of the Republic of South Africa.
